    I planned on it. Now...

I forgot a rule for the challenge I announced. Here's the last rule:

    7. If I'm able to beat ANY Optional Bosses, I am given the right to declare the challenge complete. Why? BECAUSE THEY'RE OPTIONAL BOSSES. Most of them are unbelievably hard to beat. Beating them is an accomplishment by itself.

With that out of the way... and my challenge officially announced... Let's continue shall we?

I stroll through Hollow Bastion fighting and getting chests until I confront Maleficent. Welp... my streak now comes to an end... :(
HA HA. YEAH RIGHT. JUST KIDDING.

Beat her on my first try. But now it was time for one of the hardest bosses in the game... DRAGON MALEFICIENT. :boo:

    Results?

It's impressive. I WON'T ON MY FIRST TRY. Yes I summoned Tinker Bell. Yes I ignored Donald & Goofy as they WASTED ALL MY ITEMS and I only payed attention to Sora's health ALONE.

But the details don't matter. I WON ON MY FIRST TRY. :twi:

So I save up and listen to my walkthrough as I equip Darkness protection items. Yeah. ANOTHER GOOD DECISION.

By the way... Riku got himself possessed. Yeah. He's an idiot. :DFH:

    So I fight Riku-Ansem...

Honestly... this wasn't as bad as Dragon Maleficient. Probably because I equipped the dark protection equipment. I also win this on my first try. :smile2:

So this and that happens until SORA STABS HIMSELF WITH THE DARK KEYBLADE.

    GAME OVER.

Well... not really. I end up controlling a Shadow Heartless.

    WAIT WHAT?! o_O
For some reason... it was kind of fun. :derp:

Eventually I find Donald, Goofy, and Kairi and somehow Sora regains his body.

I'M SURE THIS TOTALLY DIDN'T CREATE ANY NOBODIES OR ANYTHING. ::S:

Oh wait... I'm getting ahead of myself aren't I? :derp:

Anyway... things get bad and I end up back at Traverse Town. Heartless in all worlds have gotten stronger due to the stuff that happened in Hollow Bastion. That's... just... great...

Eventually I get a Gummi from the Secret Waterway so Hollow Bastion can be gotten to again. I also get Oathkeeper from Kairi.

To be honest with all of you... I'm starting to surpise even myself with how well I'm doing.

I SHALL KEEP IT UP, HOPEFULLY BEAT AN OPTIONAL BOSS, AND RUB IT IN EVERYONE'S OPINION-HATING FACES. :trollestia:

    *coughs*

    Anyway... that's all for now.

    Next time:

I do a world revisit since I also got White Trinity in Hollow Bastion. This will end up also probably make the characters stronger since I'm sure I'll need that when I inevitably go back to Hollow Bastion. :dunno:

To be honest... there's really not much for me to talk about.

All I really did was re-visit some worlds and get some more chests from White Trinities. I'm getting pretty high in level at this point though. Which I'm sure is thanks to the powerful heartless outbreak. Maybe it's not so bad after all? :dunno:

I'll... still put a stop to it though... :derp:

Some of the fighting is overwhelming though. But if it makes my characters stronger I'll deal with it.

Honestly though... it probably won't be much longer before I get back to Hollow Bastion.

    Next time:

Can I survive the revisit to Hollow Bastion? We shall see... :dunno:

So... during my trek... I couldn't go to the Bell Tower in Neverland...

    Wait a minute...

Yup. The first optional boss has appeared.

    What do I do?

I decide to be an idiot and attempt it.

    I died 4 times.

Yeah... I'll just... come back later...

*curses Phantom under my breath*

I made it back to Hollow Bastion. Things are... pretty intense in terms of fighting.

I made it to the Library at least though. I get to see a Beast and Belle reunion. Then I get Divine Rose.

    *equips*

    :derp:

Believe it or not that was all I accomplished.

    *curses Phantom some more*

    Next time:

Will I ever beat Phantom? Can I seal Hollow Bastion?

All will have answers in due time... :dunno:

P.S.: Give me Phantom advice if you feel generous. :dunno:

I somehow make it to the Princesses and then eventually fight Behemoth.

    I win. Yay.

Sora finds out that if he beats Ansem, the worlds will be restored and everything will return to normal. However, he won't be able to visit Leon, the others, and the other worlds anymore.

Don't worry Sora... there's still more to come. ::S:

I do some sidequest stuff and collect all 99 Puppies for the Dalmatians and get Aeroga as my reward. Oh goodie.

I also get Curaga from Aerith. Also goodie.

I then go the Coliseum again for Hades Cup.

What the... what's with this "??????" thing?

Oh no... don't tell me its....

    WELP. THAT'S JUST GREAT.

    *dies numerous times*

    *sighs*

I'm... not going to be able to beat any of the optional bosses... am I?

    I start Hades Cup.

    IT'S RIDICULOUS.

I died to Behemoth and had to start ALL OVER.

THEN IT TOOK ME 4 ATTEMPTS JUST TO BEAT CERBERUS AGAIN.

I almost beat Cloud & Leon on my first try though. Until I didn't.

So much for me being good at this game. I suck again.

However... I like to be persistent. I don't care how long it takes. I'll keep trying until I win.

    Next time:

How long will it take me to complete Hades Cup? Well... it'll probably be Part 20+ before I start talking about End of the World... so... yeah...

    I told you.

I hate it when I'm right.

I seriously have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

I beat Cloud & Leon on my second try. Yay.

Too bad I keep losing to Hades.

    *sighs*

Give me advice if you feel generous. If not... I'll just keep trying until I win.

    Next time:

It's obvious. I'll be doing Hades Cup for a VERY long time.

    OMG.

    I DID IT.

PERSISTENCY HAS WON THE DAY YET AGAIN.

I lost count, but, it doesn't matter how many times it took me.

    I FINALLY beat Hades.

    TAKE THAT YOU RIDICULOUS BOSS.

    Then what do I do?

I BEAT ROCK TITAN ON MY FIRST TRY.

(That's... not much of an accomplishment. Freaking easy.)

    But what is an accomplishment...

IS THAT I WON THE HADES CUP BEFORE END OF THE WORLD.

*does the PERSISTENCY ALWAYS WINS dance*

You may have to allow me to wallow in my victory for awhile. However... when I come back....

    END OF THE WORLD.

    Next time:

Did you not read that last part? I will be starting End of the World. Don't expect this to end anytime soon though. Why?

    1. Re: CoM will be included in "this part" of the blog. Obviously.

    2. I'll probably attempt the optional bosses again in that area before the Final Bosses.

    So... yeah...

    :derp:

    So... End of the World...

Pretty dramatic. I guess. I LOVE the battle theme though. :omg:

To be honest... there's really not much for me to say about it. I fought as much as I could and gathered more items. Then fought more Behemoths.

Well... at least this time I didn't lose ridiculously...

I even got to revisit all the worlds and fight more. :derp:

Then... I find a strange room with a strange machine... o_O

    Then...

    CHERNABOG.

    Oh... goodie...

I manage to land on his shoulders, summon Tinker Bell, then I just wail on him until he keels over. ::S:

After a Battle Royale in a large room, I reach Final Rest.

I'll be attempting some optional stuff for awhile. Which means that I probably won't update this anymore unless I'm able to do something AMAZING.

The only thing that would qualify for "something AMAZING" would be if I manage to beat one of the optional bosses.

I plan on attempting all of them though. Some I'll be attempting again.

    Who are the optional bosses?

    Well... they are...

Kurt Zisa, Phantom, Ice Titan, Sephiroth, and Unknown (<<< I'm not lying. That's literally the bosses name :dunno:)

The idea right now is try Phantom and Ice Titan first.

I have Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder at their -aga levels so that may help. Or maybe it won't. Only one way to find out I guess...

    Next time:

Will I conquer any of the optional bosses? Or will I just get frustrated to the point where I flat out give up and just attempt to beat the game?

You'll have to wait and see for those answers... :dunno:

    You know...

There are numerous ways I can start this.

But I'll start by saying something that I've said before:

    PERSISTENCY ALWAYS WINS.

I continued to be persistent, and, despite no MP Rage/Haste, and use of LOTS of Ethers... eventually...

    I TOOK DOWN PHANTOM.

    BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!

I continue to struggle with Ice Titan and Sephiroth, so I tried Kurt Zisa.

Things got... pretty close to ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

I only say that because there were a few attempts where I almost took the jerk down WITHOUT USING A SUMMON.

But then it got frustrating and annoying after awhile.

    So I caved.

Despite the fact that I forgot to shortcut menu Thundaga... (for annoying shield phase)

    I TOOK DOWN KURT ZISA.

    Yes I used Tinker Bell.

    Who cares?

I WON. THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW IT'S DONE.

I DON'T CARE IF THEY'RE THE EASIEST OPTIONAL BOSSES. THEY'RE STILL RIDICULOUS AND THEY'RE STILL OPTIONAL BOSSES.

Now it's time for the best part.

Remember when I announced my challenge? Go back a few parts and read the "added" rule.

    Well?

    Anything?

I CAN OFFICIALLY DECLARE THE CHALLENGE COMPLETE.

WOULD YOU OPINION HATERS LIKE TO SAY ANYTHING TO ME NOW?!

    I'm officially taking apologies. ;)

I still can't seem to take down Ice Titan or Sephiroth. Those are more than likely impossible for me. Unless anyone feels like being nice and giving me advice/help.

Only one more optional boss to attempt. If I beat it... that's 3/5 Optional Bosses defeated.

If I can pull this off... that means I will have taken down 60% of the Optional Bosses in this game.

SAY SOMETHING TO ME NOW OPINION HATERS.

    :derp:

    Next time:

    Unknown time. Also known as...

    Xemnas.

I must of tried 20+ times.

    I CANNOT BEAT UNKNOWN.

I'M EVEN USING TINKER BELL TOO.

    *takes a deep breath*

These continuous FAILURES on the optional bosses is starting to make me think I'm not strong enough for the final bosses.

So... this time I mean it. No more updates. Because all I'll probably be doing for the next week/SEVERAL weeks is...

    GRINDING.

    GRINDING.

    GRINDING SOME MORE.

    MORE GRINDING.

    GRINDING.

    I HATE GRINDING.

    THEN MORE GRINDING.

I think you get the point. :sigh:

Let me know of good places to do this. I only have the one EXP Accessory that increases it by 20%

So... I'll be doing this for WEEKS.

I'm not joking this time.

    *sighs*

*goes into a corner to cry*

    Next time:

My grinding results and the final bosses. Because Sephiroth, Ice Titan, and Unknown are IMPOSSIBLE.

    Just a short "update"

Grinding isn't really taking as long as I thought it would. More than likely thanks to TWO EXP Accessories I equipped to Sora.

Sora and co. are pretty much already in the 80's or close to it (Donald)

    Once Sora hits 85...

I'll try the three optional bosses I struggled with before again and see if I can beat them this time.

    It's what I'm calling...

    LOSTSANITY'S REVENGE.

But will it truly be "revenge" with victories to show for it?

The answer to that question is still to come...

    Next time:

    Will I get my revenge?

To be honest... due to how well I did last time... I kind of doubt it. But we'll see. :dunno:

For some reason... I'm kind of shocked that grinding made this much of a difference.

    But I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I ended up a little above the 85's for Sora.

Then I tried Ice Titan again.

    TOOK DOWN ON SECOND TRY.

    ICE TITAN MELTED.

    :twi:

I'm doing better against Sephiroth too. But I ran out of MP to stop his stupid "Descend Heartless Angel" attack with Strike Raid.

I have another idea I'll be trying next time. I'll make sure to let all of you know how that goes. ;)

    Next time:

Will I actually be able to defeat Sephiroth and Unknown LEGITIMATELY?! Stay tuned to find out? :dunno:

    SEPHIROTH DE-WINGED

    UNKNOWN "DISAPPEARED"

    ALL OPTIONAL BOSSES ARE DOWN.

Plus... this pretty much GUARANTEES that I will unlock the "Another Side, Another Story" secret movie.

    :D

    Next time:

The final bosses of the game. With all optional bosses defeated, plus the fact that all my characters are in the 80's and close to the 90's...

    This shouldn't be too difficult.

As for Re: Chain of Memories which will DEFINITELY be as difficult as "The Answer" was...

I don't know. Maybe Sunday, maybe Monday, maybe Tuesday. We'll see how things go.

    I enter the final door.

    DESTINY ISLANDS?! Okay... o_O

I get deja vu as the same lines that were said in the beginning of the game by the mysterious brown robed person are repeated.

    THEN RIKU.

    Actually no. JERK ANSEM.

    FIGHT!!

Easy. Because of my levels. Then he runs away like a coward.

    GIVE CHASE!!

    DARKSIDE AGAIN.

    Pff. Also easy.

Ansem again. Except on my own. A little more diffcult but I still win.

THEN GIANT THING. Called World of Chaos apparently (which is just what my walkthrough said)

Donald and Goofy are sort of "kidnapped" and I'm on my own. Wonderful.

Actually... I end up fine. I eventually regain Donald and Goofy, destroy the World of Chaos' Main Core and beat it a second time.

    KINGDOM HEARTS... IS LIGHT!!

I forgot how cliche the ending of this game is. Oh well. :derp:

    So... credits.

Then that mysterious long road. WHICH I'M SURE DOESN'T LEAD TO ANY TYPE OF STRUCTURE CALLED CASTLE OBLIVION OR ANYTHING.

    *coughs*

    Anyway...

Another Side Another Story Deep Dive is unlocked.

I forgot how cool the secret movies are. :omg:

That's it. I get a PS3 theme for winning. Yay? :dunno:

    However...

I was looking at my Re: Chain of Memories walkthrough... and it mentioned "358/2 Days Clear Bonus"

    Hm. I see.

Well... luckily... I know enough about the Kingdom Hearts Storyline which won't make me confused.

Because Re: Chain of Memories is pretty much the Kingdom Hearts version of Person 3 FES "The Answer" in the fact that it's RIDICULOUSLY DIFFICULT.

So... I'm going to need ALL THE HELP I CAN GET.

So yeah... I'm doing that first. Because, like I said, I need all the help I can get.

    Next time:

358/2 Days: The Movie. Because all it is, is pretty much HD Remasters of the Cinematics.

It may still take me some time to get through that though. I'll try to talk about it, but, there really isn't much to talk about. Because it's just cutscene extravaganza pretty much. ::S:

    Next time:

358/2 Days Mini-Break. Starring Roxas. And Maybe Xion. :dunno:

    Coming Soon:

    ALL OF MY RAGE.

The Kingdom Hearts version of Persona 3 FES "The Answer"

KINGDOM HEARTS RE: CHAIN OF MEMORIES.

Yeah... 358/2 Days has a sad story...

I... kind of forgot about that.

Roxas, Xion, and Axel are obviously the Sora, Riku, and Kairi of this game.

    To be perfectly honest though...

I never really fully understood Xion, how she came about, or who she even is. ::S:

Oh well? I guess it doesn't matter? :dunno:

    Next time:

I finished up the rest of the 358/2 Days stuff. I should probably replay the original DS game. But that'll be later.

The story is just... so sad...

I also got to read "Secret Reports"

What the...? That wasn't in the original DS game... was it? Either way... pretty interesting... o_O

With all of that... allow me to welcome everyone.

What am I welcoming you to?

    Well...

    I'm welcoming you to...

THE BEGINNING OF ALL OF MY RAGE.

    Why?

Because I started Re: Chain of Memories. That's why. On Normal.

I'm afraid for my life.

Well... I'll just try my best.

After a recap of KH1 we see Sora and co. at that weird seemingly-never-ending road.

After a strange meeting with a black robed individual WHICH I'M SURE TOTALLY ISN'T SUSPICIOUS. We find... a large castle.

Hi Castle Oblivion. You are about to receive ALL OF MY RAGE.

So... we can't use our skills and memories get "sampled"

Yeah... if only that were true... (not)

After a brief introduction of Card Battling... wait... WHEN DID THIS GAME TURN INTO YU-GI-OH?! o_O

    *sighs*

Well... there's really no choice at this point anyway... so... eventually I run out of time and stop at the first World Card. Traverse Town.

This... is NOT going to be fun...

    Next time:

The RAGE begins and I try to grind some levels to get to level 7 for the first boss as my walkthrough suggests.

Also... give me advice on how to handle this game and my cards. BECAUSE I'M GOING TO NEED IT.

    Thanks.

I haven't been able to do much in Re: Chain of Memories.

I'm right before the first boss fight. (Guard Armor)

    However...

This game is already kind of... annoying me.

Some enemies keep card breaking me and I don't get a lot of cards back. Then, what should be a relatively easy random encounter turns into a multi-minute survival fight.

So... as the question states in the title for this...

Is it bad that I'm ALREADY getting frustrated?

Because I don't think it is...

    Next time:

I attempt the first boss. Which may take more than one try unlike KH1 Final Mix bosses did. Wish me luck. I'll probably need it.

    I made some actual PROGRESS.

    Shocker huh?

    Anyway...

I was able to beat Guard Armor on my first try. Not sure how. But I did.

Then I got to meet "Got it memorized?" Guy. I mean Axel.

The boss fight with him was... annoying.

But I somehow win on my first try there too.

Then... I got lucky enough to get a Moogle Room card so I used it and stocked up on cards in Agrabah.

I was doing... okay. Not great. Just... okay.

    Until Jafar-Genie.

It took me TWO attempts to win. I couldn't do a "Load Game" because I didn't use any Momentary Reprieve cards.

Continues don't seem to have any effect though... so I guess it doesn't matter? :dunno:

So I'm doing... mediocre. I don't expect that to last though.

    Next time:

How many attempts will it take me to beat Cloud? From this moment onward I will guess and then we'll see how close I'm right when I actually do it. ::S:

    My guess: 10+ tries.

    THIS GAME IS ANNOYING.

So... the group finally realized that they're losing their memories.

Yeah... that was kind of obvious.

I also complete Olympus Coliseum. Here are the number of attempts it took me for the bosses.

    Cloud: 2 attempts.

    Hades: 3 attempts.

    *sighs*

It's going to increase I see. I was wrong though with my guess before. Even if you combine them (5) that's still only half as much as my guess (10+)

I'm guessing I'll be eventually facing a boss that will take me 10+ attempts though...

    Next time:

Wonderland. Will more bosses take me several attempts?

    My guess: Yes. :sigh:

Trickmaster guess: Still sticking with this. 10+

I cleared out Wonderland. The worlds are starting to take longer though. So I may no longer get through one world per update.

I don't know if I'm getting better at this game or getting lucky. Probably a little of both maybe? I've stockpiled quite a bit of Moogle Rooms and Momentary Reprieves though.

Also I was WAY off with my Trickmaster guess.

I BEAT IT ON MY FIRST TRY.

So... again... I don't know if I'm getting better at this game or if I'm getting lucky. What I've noticed is the key to most boss fights is to look at the # of the card the boss is using and to attack if your top card is higher or just wait until it is higher than the card the boss is using.

Not sure if this "strategy" will work for everything though.

    Especially since Monstro is next.

    PARASITE CAGE.

I've heard it's the worst boss in the game to beat.

So... yeah... this should be fun... (not)

Oh BTW... I went back to Traverse Town since I've also been stockpiling Calm Bounties and got my Maverick Flame 358/2 Days Clear Bonus. I don't see how that will help me all that much though.

    Next time:

How many attempts will it take me to beat Parasite Cage?

Because it's one of the worst bosses of the game... here's my guess:

    20+ attempts
