It maybe partly due to the fact that there are a lot of mothers who oppose videogames. Saying that they are evil and cause children to commit crimes like Murder, Rape, etc. Hell, schools are so stupid that if you merely look like you have a weapon, even if you don't, you can get expelled for it.
i know that fact about the parents one but only the true psychos would do murder, rape e.c.t but thats only one in a million gamers who would become like that.
This is true, but sadly parents don't see it that way. As soon as one small incident happens, "Oh, videogames are bad! They are implanting evil thoughts into my child!" It's something where one incident drives more fear into people more than the propagandas for weed.
Slightly mixed issues there, I think. Playing videogames doesn't count as a job because it doesn't aid any other members of society in any way. That's not to say they're bad in any way, but they're just a pastime.
This is true too. Sadly videogames are being chastised over a few isolated incidents because it turns out the PEOPLE were psychopaths. I get that they are a pastime, but making videogames is a job. Though with them being beat down by parents, I fear companies that make games will take a lot fire eventually too with comments like, "Why do you enjoy corrupting my children?"
I'm not really sure. With gaming becoming more and more widespread, I think being involved in them in any capacity is becoming more acceptable. There are people who ignorantly blame them for behavioural problems, but I think that view will eventually die out almost completely.
True. The stigma against videogames is less prevalent compared to the popularity. But something so small can get attention still. While it may die out in the future, never underestimate it in the here and now.
