“I don’t anymore,” she said with a shrug. “I just have Tanzy.” Her face fell slightly, and her brow furrowed. “I miss him.”
“Prioritize the mission,” he suggested. “If there is the slightest inclination that nothing can be done, I think Puck had the right idea.”
She laughed a little, looking up at him. “Despite what you may think, I’m very loyal. I would have defended that cat with my life.”
“If one of us disappears or is in trouble or something,” he mused, taking her hand.
“I had a vision that the cat was going to fall off the roof,” she replied stubbornly. “It made sense at the time for me to go after it.”
Puck had mostly packed up already, so they were mostly ready to go. Ben stood up and frowned. “We probably should have a plan for this...
She laughed a little. "Mama climbed after me and pulled me back in the house. I got in such trouble."
Puck squinted up at them, crossing his arms before standing up. "Let's go."
She laughed a little. "Maybe not to you."
He knocked back the rest of his coffee before standing. "Ready?"
She considered this for a moment. “I used to sleepwalk while I dreamed,” she mused. “I climbed out onto the roof once.”
He sighed a little, squinting at her. “Finish your food.”
"What do you dream about?" she asked, looking up at him.
He raised an eyebrow. "We could travel to other places," he amended. "I'm just saying that this one might not be a good start."
She laughed a little, looking up at him. "What? No. Why?" She raised an eyebrow. "Did I sleepwalk or something?"
He laughed a little, drinking the rest of his coffee. "Sure. When you nearly passed out from your vision."
She shook her head, walking along next to him. "No. I don't really dream very much unless it's some sort of vision."
Something still seemed to be bothering her, but she brightened, taking his hand gently. "Oh, good. I thought maybe you had a bad dream."
She laughed deeply, looking a little relieved. "Yeah," she said, setting the roll on her bag and taking a few steps towards him, a frown...
"Yes, but it wasn't happy," he pushed, smirking at her.
