He laughed again, his expression brightening. "That's interesting."
She scoffed, crossing her arms defensively. "Sorry for caring."
He laughed as well, tilting his head. "Oh? Like what?"
She noticed his hesitance, but simply decided to accept his answer. "Okay.. I just wanted to make sure."
He ate quietly for a bit. "Are you tired?"
"Like.. somewhere secure. A living space."
He sat up, taking with a nod. "Thank you."
She hesitated, looking up at him. "Do you have somewhere to stay now?"
He relaxed, waiting for her.
She tilted her head at him. "I figured they would more.. I dunno. Welcoming?"
He shook his head. "If I sleep I won't want to wake up again for the night."
"Yeah, that's fair. It seems like a long shot, to me. At least the churches are beautiful."
He shrugged slightly. "I dunno.."
She looked over at him. "I never really believed in that type of thing," she admitted. "Do you?"
He nodded, resting his head on his hand.
She sat beside him, folding her hands as she observed.
"Oh, good. Soup sounds good."
She looked around curiously, her expression one of interest.
He looked over. "What are you making?'
She followed him, watching curiously.
