He took a breath. "I missed you, Anya."
He stood up, leaning down and hugging her.
He woke suddenly, looking up at her. "Anya?"
He was sitting beside the bed, his head resting on the sheet as he slept.
Basel waited next to her, clearly nervous. He had set out water, in case she woke up.
He caught her, looking panicked. He picked her up again. "Okay, let's go."
He frowned, looking down at the liquid before looking at her. "Anya.."
Basel reached up, wiping the supposed tear from her cheek. He had never been good with weapons, so he didn't bring any.
Basel took a look at the guards. "We didn't happen to bring any weapons?"
Basel frowned, taking her hand as he eyed them uncertainly. "This is a problem."
He supported Anya, following her.
Basel nodded, looking over at Stephanie. "We should probably try and get out."
He supported her, watching cautiously.
Basel bristled, but as she asked.
Basel looked almost offended. "What? No. You're the one who wants to kill her."
"She is hardly a threat," he said hotly, going to join Stephanie. "You have the same powers and you're more of a threat to us."
Basel frowned, looking up at Stephanie tentatively.
"Well.. We'll see," he said quietly, starting out of the room back to Stephanie.
He moved to pick her up, his touch careful. "I'm taking you back with me."
He went to her, kneeling beside her. "Anya.. Can you hear me?"
