She remained peacefully asleep.
"That's impossible," he said. "You can't create living things."
"Fairly well," he said. "It's all been mapped out."
She kept near, closing her eyes. It didn't take long for her to drift off.
"What do you think you could improve on?"
He led her through the overgrown streets where rotted, unsalvageable cars and debris sat, slowly being taken over by vegetation.
She laughed lowly, kissing his temple. "Alright. But try to sleep, alright? I love you.'
"Set the field back to normal."
He nodded, taking the lead. "Follow me, then. I'll take us."
"Hey," she said warmly, bringing up the blanket. "Sleep, alright?"
He gave a nod. "Very, very good."
He followed her out, his brows furrowed. "Do you know how to get there?"
She came over to the bed, lying beside him and wrapping her arms around him.
"Hm," he murmured, his tone approving.
He nodded, leaving for a moment and returning with his bow and arrows. "Good. Let's get going."
Aspen was drying her hair in front of the mirror, wearing pajamas.
He reached up to touch it curiously.
"Right. Would you like to go look right now? I have to go out for food, anyways."
