He hesitated for a moment, suddenly feeling sick at the thought as she pulled away. "Do I make you unhappy?"
He seemed surprised, moving back easily. "Addie?"
"How do you think?"
He swept them away as the got close before readying himself and leaping, going after her.
She looked thoughtful. "Are you happy?"
The shadows disappeared just as Zad managed to free himself. He waited for a moment, as if waiting for a move from her.
"I know you're okay now. Here's my problem. I'm sad that it happened in the first place because I care about your well-being.
She recoiled at her touch, but there seemed to be multiple.

He looked down, sending a few shadow-like creatures to attack while he tried to escape.

They retreated momentarily. Zad reappeared, aiming more of the shadow-like spears her way.
