She pulled her knees to her chest with a frown. "Why don't you believe me?"
He blinked. "Wait, really?"
She noticed, pulling away and sitting up. "I'm sorry."
"No, I did."
She took his hand, her voice adopting a serious tone. "I love you, August."
He pulled away after a moment, his thumb running over where his lips had touched as he met her gaze. "I love you too, Addie."
