She pulled away, her hands trailing down his arms, going to hold his. "But it's the neighborhood, Aug.."
He chuckled. "So are you."
"..Would you consider returning?"
He gave her a small smile.
"He's okay. He's with Anya." She paused, her thumb brushing his cheek. "Why did you leave?"
He looked down curiously.
"I heard what happened," she said gently.. "I found Eli before I knew where you were and he told me what happened."
"Mm." he murmured, closing his eyes.
He nodded. "Yeah.."
She sighed, relishing their proximity. "I don't think you are."
He relaxed, going quiet.
She buried her face in his shoulder. "You're not terrible, August."
"Because I was just confused for a second."
She hugged him, her arms moving around him tightly.
He blinked. "What? I said no."
She looked over at him, her face softening. "Of course, Aug.."
He frowned, pausing. "No.."
She frowned, looking down. "I could never win. Whatever I did ended up hurting someone. I was selfish to even love you."
