She frowned. "What do you mean?"
She laughed. "Only to you, my love."
He tilted his head. "Invitation?"
"I'm not going to do anything," she replied. "I can't do anything."
"How fancy," she teased.
He nodded slightly. "Well.. Don't let me stop you. I'll just head back to my room."
"Not long," she said honestly, her voice quiet. "Three days, maybe.."
She nodded, coming back over to him.
"I meant as in going somewhere?"
She looked panicked for a moment before taking a breath and slipping out of August's den, unsure of what would happen.
"I'll wait just for you.'
He nodded. "Are you getting up."
Aspen turned her head slightly, almost nervously checking.
She kissed his cheek before taking her bowl and setting it at the table. "Thank you."
He nodded. "Yeah, me too. His wings are soft."
It took her much longer to sleep. She kissed the top of his head softly before closing her eyes.
She grinned. "Perfect. You should make yourself a bowl so I don't feel weird about eating it by myself."
He sat up. "Sleep well?"
She didn't say anything after that, just keeping quiet.
She looked over. "Should I feel excited?"
