"Terribly," he replied sarcastically.
"We can still explore, right? Or we can figure something else out. We could go swimming or do whatever we want!"
She said nothing, looking back down at the rabbit.
"It was supposed to help you."
"What's the term? Concrete jungle?"
She pursed her lips, looking over at Eli.
"Patting your head?"
"Then let's do that."
"I worry," she admitted slowly, "I worry that my presence makes your lives harder."
"I did do that. Did it help?"
"But if you had to pick."
She nodded, looking thoughtful as a slight frown crossed her face.
He pulled away after a moment, giving her head a pat. "Thank you for apologizing."
She flushed, rolling her eyes slightly as a grin crossed her face. "Besides that."
"Yeah. Well.. If this place were less dangerous."
He came over, giving her a hug. "You don't need to worry. It was a long time ago."
