Aspen paused before answering. "Yes, I did."
He nodded. "I might be able to fly again."
He watched her hopelessly. "Is there anything..?"
She tilted her head at them, concerned.
He nodded, looking at them. "They're all grown again."
She whimpered slightly, stepping back in defeat.
He frowned, running his hand through her hair. "Can I make it better?"
Aspen looked up, mostly happy to see them. "You're back."
He tilted his head at her. "Better!"
She looked panicked, glancing back at the boxes that were being unpacked.
"I'll stay with you," he murmured. "I want you to be happy."
She waited for them patiently.
Slowly his feathers had fully healed.
Her eyes brows furrowed slightly as she watched her warily. "I understand.."
He kissed the top of her head, keeping her close.
