She frowned, going to follow.
"I will be scared if I'm on fire."
"We should be able to talk to each other about anything," she said warmly. "And I'm glad that's so."
She leaned against the counter, glancing at Eli's den.
She raised an eyebrow, watching him carefully.
"Fire hurts, you know."
She nodded, taking a bite. "Yeah. That way we're clear with each other about it."
