"Well, you might." Her tone turned almost playful and teasing, since she knew who he was. "Aubrey Sparks?"
Vines slowly grew outward from under her feet.
She tilted her head. "True.. But he's human too. Anyways, I have both of you now."
Sam said nothing.
"I doubt you'd know them."
Warner spoke up. "Like fingernails!"
"Yeah. Pretty much."
Sam looked up nervously. "And?"
"Just a friend.."
He frowned. "Vines?"
"Oh, I mean.. Probably. I didn't have a lot of friends in Icarus."
She smiled. "That's fair."
It did and Warner's eyes widened. "What the.."

He sighed, kissing her cheek.
