She looked up at him as she got over the ledge. "Thank you."
He grinned. "You did it!"
He rolled his eyes. "Only if you do good."
She grinned, relaxing in his arms.
"Yeah. She is."
Aspen followed, hands shaking unsteadily.
A small flame flickered in her palm.
"Right. And you're in one of mine, so.."
She nodded. "Of course."
He smiled slightly. "Does she?"
"Okay.. If you say so."
Nothing happened at first, though her hand felt strangely energized.
"You're welcome. Do you have to teach today?"
"I love you too, Jack. A whole lot."
He shook his head. "Nope. She was perfect."
She nodded, watching him go before trying herself.
"I think.. Zad usually does this."
"Oh. Sorry. Bill is wonderful."
