He wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you."
She laughed brightly. "I'll take that as a yes."
"It was an okay hotel, but I was by myself."
He seemed pleased. "I've never been great with braids."
"Yup," she said brightly. "Every embarrassing story. Do you still hate dancing?"
"Me too," he replied gently. "The nights were the worst."
"I did it!" He laughed. "This is exciting!"
She ran a finger over the twine, a mischevious grin on her face. "Oh, yes. I even know about that."
"I know that I'm not as happy without you.."
It seemed to be done decently. There were flowers meticulously placed within the braid.
A small smile crossed her face. "Ah, yes. Two moves, right?"
He rubbed her back. "I love you too."
He grinned. "Yup."
"Yeah.. I trust it'll get better. Here, we can play chess if you want, in the meantime. Though you always beat me."
"And we can have our mornings back.. and our evenings."
He worked diligently, his tongue sticking out slightly as he focused. After a moment he paused. "There we are."
She laughed, her nose crinkling slightly. "This sure is a strange situation."
He grinned gently. "The kids will be happy."
"Of course. I'm not quite done yet."
"Maybe we're both having trauma and this is all just a mess."
