She laughed slightly, wiping the kids faces with napkins before taking Sawyer out of his chair and setting him down.
He shrugged. "I dunno."
"Huh. That's weird."
He looked over at her, feeling strangely relieved. "Thank you."
"Uh huh. That's what I thought."
"Maybe he didn't."
"It's good. Your salad?"
"You're right."
She was quiet. "Because I would only want you to change once and it does not involve finding a new outfit."
"I feel like if he wanted to kill you he would have. He's surprisingly sneaky. It's annoying."
He chuckled lowly, eating his food.
"It's the truth."
She squinted at him. "You know, yes. I would say more, but I can't."
He shrugged. "And you were gonna kill Gabe."
