She laughed a little. “That’s okay,” she soothed, squeezing his free hand. “You’ll figure something out.”
He sighed in mock irritation. “I can’t win.”
She looked up at him, shifting a little to get more comfortable. “Are you gonna travel?”
"I thought it was sweet!" he protested, draping an arm over her shoulder.
Her head was resting on his shoulder and she squinted a little at the TV. "Abel, what do you think you're gonna do after all this?"
"Well... I'm afraid of nothing... except losing you," he said with fake sweetness, giving her a big, sloppy kiss on the cheek.
She glowered at him before grabbing a slice and taking a large bite out of it, settling in next to him to watch the movie.
"Nothing," he replied smugly."I'm not afraid of anything."
It was a pepperoni pizza and she squinted at him. "You're no fun."
He laughed out loud. "Rats?!"
She rested her head on his shoulder, setting the pizza box on their laps. "I asked for only pineapple."
They walked down the street, the sun setting over the water as they strolled. "Okay. Top three fears. Go."
She went over to the door and got the box, returning to his side.
He reached out, brushing his fingers through her hair. "I love you too. Come on. Let's go."
She had closed her eyes at that point, but there came a knock at the door and she sat up. "That's the pizza. One sec."
He leaned over and kissed her cheek. "I honestly believe you're the best thing that ever happened to me, Fleur..."
She rested her head back in his lap, turning onto her side.
He squinted at her, tilting his head. "Well... you have me now. You have Alyssa."
She reached across his lap to grab the remote, handing it to him.
He hesitated, considering it. "But your friends..."
