He pulled away after a moment, looking almost a little nervous. "Are you tired?"
She laughed a little, taking small bites of the cinnamon roll. She looked really tired, dark circles under her eyes, but she seemed happy.
He cupped the back of her head gently, moving to plant kisses along her jaw.
"I can't eat all of it anyway," she said, holding her half. "Plus, you finished your sandwich already."
He frowned, tucking her hair behind her ear before reaching up and kissing her again.
"Yeah," she said brightly, sliding half of the cinnamon roll over to him. "It can be our little place."
He looked up at her, cupping her jaw gently. "I'm sorry I dragged you into all this."
"I guess so," she replied with a playful shrug, cutting the cinnamon roll in half. "But can't be too careful, right?"
He laid back on the bed, still holding her close. He broke their kiss for just a moment, watching her. "I love you."
She laughed a little, taking another sip from her coffee. "So instead, we go on a coffee date."
He gave her a small smile before kissing her, gently at first before deepening it as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
This seemed to confuse her. "Why?"
He turned to her, pulling her into his lap. "I'm pretty confused," he admitted. "But I'm glad you're here."
She tilted her head, frowning. "You remember that we blew up the warehouse, right?"
He straightened up, pulling her face gently to his to kiss her gently. "You okay?" he murmured.
