She laughed a little as they entered the decoration area. She dropped his arm and moved ahead. "What about a painting?"
"Oh, shush," he chided playfully, blushing. "You're not even sure if you like me yet."
"I'd be interested, at least," she said, her voice quiet. "I haven't been to the water in a long time..." She fell silent before shaking her head....
"It's a great name, and I'm not going to have you sully it," he said, kissing the top of her head as he passed.
She hesitated, looking up at him for a moment before looking back down. "I don't know. The ocean might be nice."
"She's just ashamed of being a Dudley," Ferris said smoothly, standing up and gathering their plates.
"Yeah," she said brightly. "I can totally imagine you living a life by the water."
"No, because that means my last name is Dudley too," Alyssa protested. "He's lying."
She laughed a little, hooking arms with him. "That suits you."
"Barnum Dudley," he replied flatly.
"Forest for everyday, ocean for special occasions or fun," she replied promptly. "You?"
"Of course," he said coolly. "Ferris Costlough is not my real name."
She stood, tugging on his arm gently to go into the decorations. "Anything else you want to know?"
"Haven't you always wanted a secret name?" he asked, resting his head on his hand.
She laughed lightly. "You don't need to worry, Abes. I'm not your concern."
"This is your chance to be creative!" Ferris said, rubbing her back.
She laughed a little, nodding. "Yeah, we laid low for a while. I'm okay now."
Ferris also flushed, frowning at Alyssa. "Don't be a dick," he muttered.
