She took one of the explosives from him and began to string them up.
He paused before ruffling her hair. "I think she was pleasantly surprised. Don't worry."
"No one is going to get hurt," she said. "Except the machines."
“Jesus. And we just showed up out of the blue? That’s impolite.”
She glanced back, giving him a playful smile. “That’s promising,” she said, entering the room.
“When was the last time you saw her before this visit?”
She darted down the hall, opening a large door at the end of the corridor, muttering to herself as she pulled it open.
“Come on. Let’s just get back to your place. Do you miss your grandmother?”
She stopped moving for a moment, looking around to get her bearings before nodding to herself. “Okay. This way. The machinery is just at the end...
“But you see? You’re very kind to me.”
She looked back at him. “Are we... blowing up the whole building?”
He followed her, still talking. “You’re letting me sleep in your apartment tonight.”
She led him in, keeping quiet.
He sighed goodnaturedly. “You’re too kind to me.”
She looked back at him before nodding. “Okay. This is the closest entrance to the storage.”
He looked down at her, frowning for a moment. “Couldn’t you?”
She approached an entrance, her hand on the doorknob. “Here.”
