She turned her head, opening her eyes to look at him. "Hey," she said softly, her hand coming up to cup his jaw.
She kissed his cheek, obviously excited for the night as they entered. "You're welcome."
"How do we fix that?"
"I could mock you," he continued, raising an eyebrow.
Her eyes fluttered open and she looked up at him for a moment, still mostly asleep. "You're so pretty, Sariel," she said, closing her eyes again.
"I don't know," she said with a shrug, kissing his cheek. "You just are."
"But we could fix that, right?"
His face softened ever so slightly. "That's rude, you know. It's rude to mock."
* * * Addie was stretched out in the field, her eyes closed as she dozed in the sunlight.
"Hm. You're smart, Warns."
"Why not?"
He noticed, raising one eyebrow. "What?"
"A night on the town?"
"Are we marriage?"
"Hm. Alright, then."
"Then that's what we are," he confirmed, standing up and offering a hand to her. "Come on, let's head back."
"I love you too!" she replied, looking over at him. "What are we doing?"
"I don't think I understand exactly what marriage is."
He tilted his head, studying her expression thoughtfully. "Well? Just to explore?"
He grinned at her, reaching forward and brushing her hair back gently. "Two people who like each other. Right?"
