She laughed brightly, coming over to him and kissing him gently. "I'm kidding. I love you. I'm going to head out, okay?"

"Fine," she said with a shrug, standing up and pulling her hair back. "What do I care? I like to be abandoned."
He frowned, his fingers brushing over at it. "Can I... can I talk to it?"
She squinted at him momentarily before sitting up, kissing his cheek with a sense of resignation. "I guess that's fair," she allowed,...
"It can? How?"
She frowned, lying back in the pillows, looking like she might have been pouting a little. "Really? Why?"
He fell quiet at that, brushing his thumb over the metal. "It's beautiful, Aspen."
She rolled her eyes affectionately, kissing the tip of his nose.
He brought it close to his face, his brows furrowing thoughtfully. "A bird... I wish I could see it," he said wistfully.
She huffed indignantly, kissing his jaw gently. "You're cute."
He felt it gently, looking thoughtful. "You made this?"
She flushed lightly, raising an eyebrow. "Pardon?"
He reached out, his hands curious.
She slipped on his sweater, pulling her hair out from under the collar before lying back down next to him.
He paused curiously. “A bird?”
“I think so. I don’t remember any bad dreams,” she said distractedly, sitting on the edge of the bed and slipping off her shirt.
