Addie frowned, looking up at him, but seemed to get the hint. "Well, we were just..." She looked to Warner for help.
"Are you sure?"
He looked over at her for a moment. "I'd love a black coffee and a scone, please."
"I love you too. Thank you for your help."
Addie looked up at Warner. "Warner was going to ask me something...?"
"I don't think I know how to love, Aspen," he said, panicked. "I'm going to turn into a warthog!"
"Good. I got you."
"I needed that. Now the oatmeal will be perfect."
"That's really sweet," she said comfortably, her back against Warner's chest.
"Do you love me?" he repeated. "Like in the story?"
"I love you."
"Oh. That's a lot of support."
Addie squeezed Warner's hand. "I can't really imagine you two hanging out," she replied, raising one eyebrow. "Are you friends?"
He looked over at her, his brows furrowed. "Do you love me?"
"Not even close."
He looked even more confused.
She scooted back next to Warner, giving him room. "Sweetie, why were you hanging out with Zad? Did he give you a flower crown?"
August stood up, looking uncomfortable.
