"Huh. Okay, then."

"Well, yeah. I got him cleaned up and he slept with me."
"What do you have planned?"
"I love you," he said quietly.
"He came to my room last night. The guests at the party dumped the bowl of punch over his head because he's an angel, can you believe it?"
He laughed slightly, cupping her jaw. "I love you too."
He picked her up and spun her with the rest of the crowd, kissing her as he let her down.
"What about Sariel?"
"Yes, I see that. It's beautiful."
Surprisingly, he didn't do too terribly. She would see what he meant by his inability to be fluid, but he had the timing down pretty well.
She jumped in surprise, looking over at him in confusion. "Jesus. What was that for?"
He laughed gently, pulling her into an embrace and kissing her lightly. "I would love to."
He glanced at her before taking her hands and going into the thick of it.
"Huh. You and I are very different." She leaned up against him. "Besides, it was just Sariel."
"You want to go out on a date?"
"You're right. It does."
