She patted Sariel’s back before turning to Warner. “Ready to go? We can climb into my room.“
She paused, tapping a few buttons on the screen before the movie started. She leaned back in the pillows, listening quietly.
He nodded. “So this is my secret recipe. It doesn’t leave this room.”
"I snuck out of the house countless times. I think we can do it."
She left the screen for a moment, coming back with a glass and setting it on the side table.
He poured the water into the mixture with a rough, wooden, carved spoon. "Alright, Aspen. I'm going to teach you how to make pancakes."
“I wanted to check on my dad. To make sure he was alright.”
“Well, you go get some wine too.”
He hummed under his breath as he cooked.
He opened the bedroom door and closed it behind him.
“You’re lovely.”
"So, like... I can't go into the house?"
"Do you want to choose a movie? I'm going to go get some wine."
"In the crock pot."
He began to head for the door.
"I don't know that I do."
She paused, looking over her shoulder at them. "Can she see us?"
"Probably," she said, adjusting the phone. A small screen of a movie popped up next to her face. "There. A menu should have popped up."
