He burst into laughter, pulling her closer to him and kissing her forehead. "You're right," he said affectionately. "You're the best flirt."
"He's not going to have enough energy that he needs, though!"
"I have that effect on people, Warner, don't worry," she teased, turning to look at him.
"Oh yeah? Prove it."
"I don't have to make anything. I normally just make this for Eli so he has..." He paused before his eyes widened. "I didn't make Eli breakfast!"
She laughed, planting a quick kiss on top of the creature's head. "Good boy, Ker."
"Oh? Why's that?"
"Hmph. Do you want breakfast?"
"You're just jealous," she teased, petting Ker enthusiastically. "He doesn't appreciate you, does he, Ker? It's okay, my love. What a good boy!"
