She watched him for a moment affectionately before leaving, heading to class.
"It's my favorite," he said excitedly, looking down at it.
She looked up at him expectantly.
"How fancy do you want it?"
She kissed his temple before slipping out of bed, glancing at the moon momentarily as she changed into some clothes.
He hurried to his den. It took him several minutes to return with a pretty, red one.
Her whole face lit up as she took it. "Really?"
He began to work, his hands gentle as they combed through her hair.
She woke up a couple hours later for her class, looking around blearily.
His whole face lit up and he thrust the picnic basket in Eli's arms. "Yeah! I'll be right back."
"Show me."
"I used to do it for Aubrey, but that was a long time ago..."
She fell asleep, drifting off.
He looked over at her, still standing next to her holding the picnic basket. "Yes?"
"Because you're embarrassed."
"Can I braid your hair?"
She planted a small kiss on his sternum before closing her eyes, her body warm and comfortable next to him.
“Of picnic blankets. He rarely gets to use them, but I pick them up when I find them.”
“Uh uh.”
