She looked over at him like he was a lifeline. "Really?!"
She cupped his jaw in her hands and kissed him lightly, her eyes warm with love. "It's not cute at all."
He took it and began to work, his head bowed.
"Do you know how to make sandwiches?"
"It didn't."
She looked up at him and sighed slightly, shaking her head embarrassedly. "This is humiliating."
"Hey," he said cheerfully. "Can I help you?"
He began to pull out some vegetables.
"That doesn't make me feel better."
"How are you going to teach me? I'm going crazy."
He nodded, heading for the door.
He passed her some bread. "Can you slice it?"
She looked slightly crestfallen, looking down at the ground.
"I love you too," she muttered, pulling away. "How am I going to continue teaching you?"
"I'll go help your father, if you guys are okay," he said easily. "That alright?"
"Help me pack a picnic basket!"
"That's what they all say, but immortality wouldn't be that bad."
She groaned, hiding her pink face in his shoulder. "Ugh..."
