It was Tuck. He was watching her, his eyes intense. "Hi."

He brightened, coming over to her. "Really? What kind?"
"You did! I didn't believe you, but you did tell me that!"
A couple hours later, there was another knock on her door.
She frowned before resting her forehead against his, slipping her arms around his neck and kissing the tip of his nose.
"I'm fine," he said idly, finding the twig and taking it out distractedly. "I just went out for a walk."
She looked as if a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. "It works?!"

"It's not your job to worry about me anymore," she murmured against his lips, pulling away slightly. "You don't have to worry."
"Oh, was it good?" Eli growled in frustration, heading to go change.
She brightened at the prospect, looking over at Zad as if for confirmation. "Really?"
She considered him, her golden eyes tracing his features slowly. There was a quiet pause before she kissed him, her hand coming up to rest on his jaw.
"Did you have any soup?" "Stop changing the subject, August!"
