She was still asleep, but her fingers curled in the wing and her head was resting against his shoulder, her lips slightly parted.
"It's human meat," he said distractedly. "Don't touch it."
He draped an arm over her shoulder.
"What?"
Addie's face was buried in the wing, her nose brushing the feathers.
The other huts were more of the same, although one had a fresher slab of meat in the center.
"Gah. None of that."
He took one, heading over to help.

Eli was in the hut she had just left, picking up the tin rocking chair.
"You're supposed to be enjoying the view."
"Alright. Let's hang these paintings up and go."
She fell asleep quickly, her hand curled by her face.
