Addie woke a couple hours later, her white hair messy as her eyes fluttered open. She sat up, clearly bewildered.
Eli squinted up at her playfully. "Did you? I obviously can't eat it, then."
"I guess. I'm surprised you didn't like her."

He blinked in surprise. "I... see."
Adeline's head tipped back as she fainted, but her brows were furrowed still, almost as if scolding Warner even in her unconscious state.
"Hey, Rohesia," he said easily, leaning against the counter. "You doing okay?"
She shook her head slightly to try to clear her vision, but didn't keep her eyes off the trees. "It's fine..."
Tuck entered the store a few hours later.
She ignored him for a moment, determined not to lose focus, her brow furrowing. "One sec..."
"I'll try to avoid it. You want to give that to Eli?"
She frowned, but continued cautiously.
"Well done. Now, if I die, you can take over."
She left, closing the door behind her.
She held it like that for a moment before slowly trying to grow another ice tree while sustaining the fire tree.
"You did! You're a natural."
She nodded, slipping back on her cloak. "I'll be in touch. Have a good day, Ms. Rohesia."
The bread began to sizzle. "There you go."
