She glanced up, distracted.
The full moon hung in the air and August looked up with a grin. "It's beautiful, huh?"
She shook her head, wiping her eyes hastily. "Yeah. I'm fine."
He didn't notice, walking with long strides.
She considered the flame, tossing it between her two hands.
He followed her, keeping silent.
Her head was down and her arms were crossed. There was a pause before he would hear her sniffle.
"Good or bad? Avice, you are wonderful."
A slow smile crossed her lips and she made it grow larger.
"Yeah. Let's hurry."
The class had emptied at this point, but Eden was still at the chalkboard. She was no longer erasing, but simply standing there, her back to him.
He burst into low laughter, looking over at her. "You're insane."
She opened her eyes and considered it, raising one eyebrow.
He tapped her forehead with his free hand. "Don't worry."
The class ended and Eden turned, erasing the white board.
