She left and began moving towards the door. "Fire time?"
The blankets had been arranged so it was a great deal more comfortable than the previous night, and she had been given a few more pillows.
"Really? Already?"
She left the room, her hands in her pockets.
"Sleep well," he said, returning to his chore.
"That's right. We need to get you a mask, though."
She looked over her shoulder, raising one eyebrow. "I'll see you later. I gotta set a place on fire."
He looked over at her and smiled. "Don't worry," he said quietly. "I got it."
"Well, the good news is that I do. That one brings out your eyes."
She squinted at him before turning and heading for the door.
She sighed before standing up. "I gotta go pretty soon... you should go back to bed."
He jumped in surprise before grinning over his shoulders. "It's alright, Aspen. Go to sleep. I'll see you in the morning."
She raised an eyebrow. "That one's pretty. What do you think?"
"Uh huh. Sure, Zad. I get the picture. Enjoy your tea."
She leaned over and kissed his neck lightly. "It's wonderful. Don't fret."
When she returned, August was finishing cleaning up the dishes.
Aubrey sat and waited patiently.
"Wow. I guess I got my answer."
"No," she protested. "It's sweet. I'm just not used to it from you."
