"Lark does cook very well."
She shrugged solemnly, looking down at the ground after a moment. "It's fine," she repeated. "It's fine."

"I did. I'm always right, as you well know."
He laughed, rubbing her back slowly. "You haven't had any of the food."
She looked over at him, her eyes closed off and disappointed. "Of course there would be dirt in your hair. It's a plant."
