She frowned, her brow furrowed. “To me? What do you mean?”
“Then what’s even the point of being dead?”

“You just had a baby. You shouldn’t be grumpy.”
“Well, make up your mind, then,” he growled.
They returned to his house and she turned to him as they closed the door behind him. “Are you okay?”
“You’re lying. You must be.”
“I’m devastated.”
“Don’t be grumpy, my love.”
She took his hand and led him away from the wreckage, hurrying away.
"Hm. I'm going to figure you out, Zad," she said decisively. "Does anyone come here with the ability to read minds?"
"Now you're settling."
She grinned, leaning over and kissing his cheek.
She frowned, her thumb brushing his cheekbone. "Okay, yeah. Let's go back to your house."
She squinted at him before sighing. "You just said you were 'okay'. Not that you're not sad."
"I do, but you've broken my heart."
