He grinned and the library faded away to black and all Sam could do was wait until morning.
He kissed the side of her head as he worked, whisking the mix with nimble fingers before pouring it into the iron.
"And a story?" she asked plaintively.
"No little tricks this time," he said smoothly. "This time, I'm putting up the defenses."
He returned to the mix and began to stir the bowl, heating up the pan on the stove.
"Okay, I'm gonna... I'm gonna go change."
He tilted his head slightly, a smile playing on his lips. "Oh, no. Not this time." He placed a hand on the wall of the library and color began...
He went over to the fridge and pulled out some berries.
She came back about five minutes later. "I did it."
