He relaxed, clearly relieved. "Thank you."
He laughed slightly. "What?"
He laughed, obviously preoccupied with the funniest thing in the world. Poppy glanced over at them and dimpled. "Wow. Apparently, you're a comedian."
She had to laugh, her eyebrow arched. "Seriously?"
"I figured you'd feel that way. I'm sorry it took me so long to give them."
"It won't, Aspen."
He laughed lightly, brushing her hair back. "I love you too."
"Dap," he said with a toothy grin.
"Hm. Like what?"
"Oh, good."
"It shouldn't stop. It shouldn't happen. The only reason I've lasted this long is to ensure that it won't stop."
"You got me."
She passed him to him and James gurgled, patting Francis' jaw.
She frowned, turning to look at him fully. "I can float and shoot things. What could we do with that?"
"You think?"
He hesitated before shaking his head. "No. It won't."
He kissed her back, his hand coming up to rest on her jaw.
