She nodded, satisfied before she set James down in his crib.
He squinted at her.
She went to the bathroom before coming out and setting a box in front of him. "Okay. Open it."
"Don't forget our daughter, please."
"Maybe not to you."
She grinned before sitting him down on the couch. "Okay. Wait here and close your eyes, okay?"
She frowned. "What? Of course we do."
"A tiny factoid."
She led him excitedly out of the room, clearly super pumped.
She squinted at him. "Your daughter."
"Except for the memory thing."
"No, before picking up Diana."
"Come on. You gotta open it."
"Oh, good," he said with a nod. "It's working."
She kissed his cheek, her hand against the back of James' head, before heading for the door. "Okay, good. We have time."
She squinted at him. "Mine's better."
"No, it's good."
She sighed, standing up with James. "What time is it?"
"I did," she said proudly.
