He looked over at her trustingly. “I love you.”
He headed into the bedroom to change.
Her face was relaxed in sleep, her fingers curling in his shirt. She murmured something between dry lips, sighing slightly.
She fell silent, and her shoulders slumped.
“Oh. A...u...n...t...”
“It’s still annoying.”
He sighed before pulling a blanket off the back of the couch, draping it over her.
She was still fast asleep at his side, her lips slightly parted.
"This involves both of us. We should talk about it."
She looked even more confused. "U,w,n,t?"
"Not more than they already are."
He frowned, tilting his head. "You okay?"
She buried her face in his neck.
She seemed a little irritated, raising an eyebrow at him. "C'mon, Francis. Don't give up on me, here."
He gave her a loving smile before returning to Aubrey. "Alright, baby. How do you spell 'Aunt'?" "A...w...n....t...?" "You're so close."
"But it isn't really."
He emerged about ten minutes later, a towel tied around his waist, his blonde hair dark with water.
She murmured before wrapping her legs around his waist, pulling him into a tight embrace.
