She quieted as well, her happier demeanor slowly slipping away as she frowned.
"So, something else I guess."
She came back after a moment with a plate of cookies, sitting beside him and leaning her head back as she snacked thoughtfully.
"All the things we discussed, remember?"
"Because you tricked me and hurt my feelings."
She folded her hands somewhat nervously. "I can be pretty stubborn, you know."
"We've slept enough and you don't like dancing."
She tilted her head, coming over and gently putting a blanket over him, careful not to wake before going into the other room to get some food.
He pursed his lips. "..So is later when we get back to the ship?"
"I will. He almost completed the job I couldn't."
She glanced at him. "I don't care about all that. It's just a perk. It's you. It's always been you. Not just being near, but knowing you."
"I'm not sure. What do you want to do?"
A bit later, Canyon came into the room, her hair messy from sleep as she rubbed her eyes tiredly.
He nodded. "Right. Let's just go."
"You are. Jared is my best friend."
She faltered, looking down. "It- It'll be okay.."
"I'll.. I'll try." She stuck out her tongue playfully. "Let's not think about it for awhile, then."
