She laughed out loud, shifting in his arms. "I am, yes."
"I thought we were writing letters?"
A tear fell down her cheeks, but she wiped it away before he would notice, her hand coming up to rest on the back of his head.
"On. My. Face."
He murmured, wrapping his arms around her lovingly.
"I'm aware."
He took it, his eyes still holding a warm sleepiness as he padded alongside her.
Her hand was trembling as she brushed his hair back, and she took a deep breath, staring off into space.
"I'm just going to fall directly on my face."
He was quiet, burying his nose in her hair, his subconscious clearly desperate for affection.
"That's true," she began thoughtfully. "But you seem excited."
He groaned before standing up and following, yawning sleepily.
She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, leaning down to kiss his forehead.
"This is fine, right?"
He brought her into his arms, exhaling slowly.
“You’re not really the giddy type.”
“I’m hilarious.”
She watched him tiredly before brushing his jaw. “Sleep.”
He wobbled slightly, extending an arm to steady himself. “Yes. Awesome.”
