His face softened ever so slightly in sleep, and he shifted, stretching out.
She kissed the tip of his nose, shaking her head amusedly. “You’re awfully giddy.”
“Hmph. I was here first, though.”
She rubbed his chest slowly, still sitting up. Her fingers slipped to go up to his hair, running through his dark locks. “I adore you, you know.”
He squinted at her before relenting, standing up. “Well, you’ve certainly proven yourself to be powerful and reliable.”
He didn’t react, still asleep.
“You’re leaving me?!”
“No, love. It’s alright.”
“It’s more that I don’t trust my wings.”
She yelped in surprise before wrapping her arms around his neck, kissing him deeply.
He had relaxed slightly in his sleep, his body open to her.
“I am.”
“Sleep,” she said quietly. “I’m sorry I woke you.”
He took it, looking weirdly nervous.
She raised an eyebrow, kissing the tip of his nose. "Maybe?"

She leaned back against him, relishing his warmth. "Jesus. What did I do to deserve you?"
"That's true..."
"That's gross," she said, lying down next to him.
