It was Gabe, his hands in his pockets.
She reached her hand up to rest on his jaw. "You do?"
"I can tell. You look good."
He shifted again before waking suddenly, sitting up.
She stood. "Hm. Or I could bind you there with vines. That way you can't attack me."
There was a knock on her door.
"Yeah." She hesitated, dropping the coolness for a moment. "We don't have to do anything.."
She chuckled, shaking her head.
Francis was asleep in the morning, his brow furrowed.
"Maybe so."
(A few days? He'll visit her.)
She pursed her lips, lying back on the bed and saying nothing more.
"This is great news. You don't really look pregnant, though."
