He looked around. "Wanna have lunch?"
"If you want to."
There would still be no response.
"Stop it."
"Just in case.."
He opened his eyes. "Thank you."
"Yes."
There was no response, and after a moment the silence lifted and the birds sang again.
He squinted at her. "Fine."
She hesitated. "And tell me where you'll be when you do.. So I can reply."
He did so, squeezing her hand.
"That's innapropriate," he teased.
There was suddenly silence. Not the regular silence, but the eerie kind, where the birds went quiet as well.
"I have no control over my cyborg energy."
"I love you too," she said softly. "See you soon. Don't forget to write."
He laughed slightly, oblivious. "Sure."
"Excuse me?"
The forest was calm. The birds still singing and a small breeze. In the midst of his pace, he would feel watched.
"How would I cheat?"
She nodded, leaning into his touch. "Okay. I won't."
