He sighed, setting his bag down and going to his desk.
He picked her up and carried her to the bed, setting her down gently.
She softened, brushing his hair back. "You don't actually have to be nervous. We won't do anything you don't want to do."
"Right, right," he amended. "Best friend."
Rowan was walking through the streets, his head bowed. His brows were furrowed as he came to his shack, opening the door.
He rubbed her back, staying close.
"Very."
"I'm your friend."

His fingers brushed through her hair slowly.
"Oh, good."
"Hmph. I guess so."
He arrived in his home, taking a deep breath before sitting on his cot and falling asleep.
He hummed quietly, rubbing her back.
She grinned wickedly. "Up to me?"
"I just took restoration classes."
He put his hands into his pocket with a sigh before leaving the beach, heading back home.
"No, baby," he said, pulling her back and kissing her hair. "I'm not gonna leave you."
