He winced, his brows furrowing as he looked at her, trying to pull away. "What... what are you doing?"
"I want to stay here, if that's okay," she said tiredly, turning her face into his neck. "I want to be here with you."
She sighed, looking down for a moment. "I suppose that's possible..."
His flush deepened and he cleared his throat. "Huh..."
"I'll... consider it..."
He looked down at the dagger and faltered before reaching to hold her wrist. "Tez... put the knife down."
"No," she said slowly. "No, it's okay..."
"I don't like uncertainty."
"That's weak."
"You say that, but I don't believe you."
Something got caught in his throat and he gasped slightly, reaching for her. "Tez..."
She laughed, kissing his cheek before settling against him, shivering slightly. "I'm cold."
"That seems too... uncertain."
He flushed even deeper. "I, uh... I feel badly for pizza..."
"Uh huh. No lying."
Rowan was standing at the shore, looking down at his trembling hands. He was paler than usual and he stepped into the water, taking a deep breath.
"I wouldn't. I promise."
