His eyes widened and he grinned. “Canyon! It’s beautiful!”
He chuckled slightly, kissing her forehead. “You’re a cat.”
He squinted at her. “That’s rude.”
“I’m not upset,” she said sharply, standing up. “Look, I’m going to go shower, okay?”
She pulled back after a moment, her brows furrowed. “This’ll all be okay, right?”
“Thank you.”
He brought her close, stroking her hair.
He pinched her tongue between his thumb and pointer. “Gorgeous.”
She stopped short and her normally joyful face fell. “Oh. Right.”
She sighed quietly, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him.
“You’re forgiven.”
He laughed slightly, wrapping his arms around her waist. “I’m happy to be with you too, draesling.”
“Beautiful.”
“My hugs are too notch, Gabe.”
She opened her eyes, studying him. “I’m glad you’re here too,” she said quietly. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
