She squeezed his hand. "I read a little bit. Played with the kids. We went for a short walk. It was nice. What yours?"

Gabe frowned, approaching the door and listening carefully for a moment.
She took it, her hand warm in his.
"Only, like, twice. Don't worry. I apologized."
He smiled slightly, getting a warm, knitted blanket and placing it over her.
Gabe stood, watching as his idea crumbled, he scowled, setting down the glass and trailing them from a distance.
She paused, kissing his cheek with an adoring smile before continuing.
He kissed her hand. "I might get beat up a little bit. Returning the favor."
Same came downstairs, wearing a simple sweater and pants. "Eden?"
Gabe's frown deepened, and he watched for a moment, his eyes intense and curious.
She smiled at him. "Of course not. I want to lay down and hug you, obviously."
He gave her a grin. "I am definitely in trouble with Derrick."

Gabriel grumbled, sipping his champagne in annoyance. This woman was getting in his way. He may have to find a way around this.
She nodded, quiet for a moment before pulling away to put the food away. "I'm tired."
He took it, kissing the back of it. "You're doing great!"
He nodded, climbing the stairs.
Gabe watched, growing impatient. He sighed, crossing his legs. While he had all the time in the world, he definitely hated waiting.
