Sam remained quiet after that, folding his hands.
She was quiet before looking at him with a sort of stubbornness. "Let's just keep going."
"Wow. Fine."
"Oh.. Okay. Thank you."
She blinked at him, taking a quick breath before shaking her head abruptly. "I'm sorry."
He rolled his eyes. "Medic."
He frowned. "I see."
"Business never.. seemed.. like," her words stuttered, and she suddenly became more aware. Like an old computer shutting down, "like a problem.."
"Too late. It's ingrained."
Sam looked over at it. "What are you going to do with it?"
"So that's what you're like," she remarked playfully, her tone surprisingly teasing. "Not one for first impressions?"
"Oh. Definitely not. This is great."
He looked up before slowly sitting on the edge of the bed, not touching her out of fear.
She glanced up slightly. "I've never heard anyone call it that before," she paused. "I saw you as well. Just for a moment."
"Well.. I'm glad I did."
Sam looked away, mostly at the floor.
She never seemed to meet his gaze. "Of course."
"I thought maybe.."
He folded his arms uncomfortably, his brows furrowing.
